I’m a social worker who consequently likes analyzing most issues of interest. From a political side, it sure helps having two children, a son and daughter, who are extremely politically active. To shake things up a bit, my daughter is a Democrat as am I, my son an active advocate of the Green party. It makes for interesting family holidays when the two of them begin debating. Seriously, I wouldn’t have it any other way for they are two intelligent people who would debate even if they were of the same party. They are independent thinkers who are not afraid to voice their views either differing or like minded. Maybe I gave them some of my………rebellion?

As for me,  I’m a late bloomer as far as career moves.  I worked in the past for Arbitron, TV/Radio ratings company until I felt I wasn’t doing what I wanted with my life.  Then I took a leave of absence to go to college full time majoring in social work, finally earning my Masters in 1999.  I didn’t want to have the woulda, shoulda, couldas later in life, so I was able to accomplish it.  Needless to say, I never did go back to Arbitron but have worked in many interesting jobs in mental health.  My favorite poem is Frost’s “The Road Not Taken” as it speaks to me about my own path, decisions I’ve made regarding choices over the years.  I’m still standing!
